Walking to Town - October 31, 2010
by Karen Dunn | November 4, 2010
Sunday morning, we walked into town for basketball practice. There is a large hill that we climb to get to the main road. I have been trying to exercise and this is the hill I have been walking/running up.

This road heading out of town is currently closed. They say two months, but we'll see. This is the road that we normally take to get to Guatemala City. Our Spanish tutors live in San Jorge, on the other side, and now they have to walk down the mountain (which the boy's tutor does when he doesn't have his family with him) or take a boat to Panajachel. It normally takes 20 minutes to get to Solola (just past San Jorge) and now it takes an hour if you drive around the other way. Not sure how long it takes by boat.
