Scorpion #2 :-(

by Karen Dunn | November 8, 2010

Last night (November 7th), I went into the bathroom and what do you think I found?!  Scorpion #2!!  It was too late to call for help, so Nat and I armed ourselves with a broom and a spatula.  In the end we killed it with the broom and flushed it down the toilet.  The spatula was too short.  We didn't want to get that close.

Dead Scorpion #2!

Nat and I both searched the web after finding scorpion #1 and scorpion #2.  I found
this website with this text:

"In Guatemala, scorpion stings hurt, not kill. The treatment for which is to do nothing, and let the poison pass from your system. One day after being bitten, and the effects should subside. Besides washing the wound and taking pain mediation, no further treatment is necessary for most scorpion stings.
As with many other aspects of the natural world, scorpions are generally feared more than they are truly fearsome."
I'm hoping this is true.  For those of you coming to visit, please still come :-)!

Ted - when and where were you stung. What were your symptoms and what did you do about it?
