Exploring Pana with Michele, Frankie & Luke - November 19, 2010
by Karen Dunn | November 29, 2010
Today, November 19th, was Michele's first full day in Panajachel. Frankie and Luke explored the grounds around our place before we headed into town.
We then headed into town. Our first stop was the market. Notice the meat hanging in the background.
Our second stop was Dina's Chocolates. We have become regular customers. They make the best homemade dark chocolate!
Then we headed to Pana Super. This store is owned by a woman that used to work for P&C in Fayetteville, NY. Small world! We ordered our turkey for Thanksgiving from here. Our turkey is waiting in the freezer for us to pick up on the 22nd. It won't fit in my freezer at home.
This is a picture of me, Frankie, and Luke, outside of Salomon's Porch (http://www.porchdesalomon.org).
We then walked down Santander (the main tourist street in Pana) on our way to LIFE School. This is where my boys are going to school.
Here is a picture of Jared's classroom (5th/6th grade):
Ryan's classroom (3rd/4th grade):
Justin's classroom (pre-K and Kindergarten):
School Library:
Computer Lab:
Jared was out on the recess field when we were visiting.
This is a picture of the school's cafeteria. Doña Blanca is in the back. She brings food to the school for the kids to buy. I'm a big fan of not having to make lunches this year. We pay in advance and the kids can get there lunch from her each day.

After the city tour, we headed back to our place in a tuk-tuk and waited for my boys to get home from school.
It is great having visitors in town!!
