87. Tree fell on my parent's house (1-13-11)
by Karen Dunn | March 3, 2011
After that nice peaceful dinner at my parents place, Maitland and Mary went back to their apartment and my parents and their other friends moved into their living room to hang out. It was very windy night!
As Maitland and Mary were walking back to their apartment, Mary said something like "we better hurry before a tree falls on us." Two seconds later they heard a very loud crash. It was dark and they couldn't see anything, so they continued on to their apartment. At the same time, we heard a loud noise outside from our house. Nat went to investigate.
Turns out a huge tree fell on the house my parents were staying in. Thank goodness for good construction! If this tree had fallen on our house in Fayetteville, I think it would have split the house in two. The window in the kitchen broke and their were a few minor chips on the roof.
Check out the pictures.
The next morning. Their house is the one on the left.
Back of the house. You can see the tree resting on the house.
Broken kitchen window.
The roots came right out of the ground.
The clean-up begins.
