74. Antigua - Dec 31, 2010
by Karen Dunn | February 10, 2011
Today we were on our own in Antigua. When we woke up we found out that the breakfast we were promised, did not exist. A woman staying at our hotel recommended Cafe Barista in Central Park. So off we went.
It turns out that Cafe Barista is the Panera of Antigua.
After breakfast we went to look at the famous arch in Antigua.
We said goodbye to Hector and Paulina.
A large indoor market in Antigua. In the market there was a beautiful gallery with photography of Jon Kaplan (http://www.jonkaplan.com/jonkaplan_gallery2.html). I fell in love with it.

We passed a chocolate shop that we had to go into to.
While we were at the indoor market, my father was wandering around Antigua taking more pictures. He came across this line of people that stretched for blocks. I think it was the line for the bank to get their paychecks.
Wifi in Antigua.
Then we waited at our hotel, Mi Casa en la Antigua, for our van to pick us up and take us back to Panajachel.

Jared and Ryan couldn't stop taking photographs inside the market.

We had lunch at Cafe Sky (the two story building on the left in the picture below). The view from the roof was beautiful, but it was too hot to sit up there for lunch.

What a great experience for your family. Love, karen
p.s. did I tell you I started teaching step aerobics in Montserrat? It is almost as funny as when I was 8 months pregnant with Bridgette.
