65. Belize - Snorkeling Trip (12-24-10)
by Karen Dunn | February 6, 2011
Today we went on a great snorkeling trip with Raggamuffin Tours - Full Day Sail and Snorkel with three stops: (1) Coral Gardens, (2) Shark Ray Alley, (3) Hol Chan Marine Reserve. For some reason I thought it would be cool to go out on a sail boat. A few minutes out at sea and I said to myself, "What was I thinking!?". I ended up being fine and we had a great time, but it was a little scary at first.
We took a lot of photos on this trip, so I'm apologizing in advance for the large quantity in this blog :). There are some cool pictures here if you have the time to look through them all. Our captain took my camera and got a lot of cool underwater pictures - a sea turtle, an eel, coral, and a lot of cool looking fish.
Waiting before we got on the boat.
Ryan, Jared, & Justin:
On the boat.
Getting ready to get in the water.

Spotted fish.

Shark Ray Alley - big fish and nurse sharks. It wasn't until we were at Shark Ray Alley that Justin decided he wanted to snorkel. The sharks got my son in the water! How wrong is that!?
Sting Ray
See Justin on Nat's back.
Sharks, Rays, and big fish.
Touching a shark.
Ryan was awesome at snorkeling.
Justin and Karen.
Jared and Ryan.
Getting back on the boat.
Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
Terrapin Fish:
Sting Ray.
Eel #2.
Sea Turtle.
The guide arrived here before I did and he saw two turtles. There was only one by the time I arrived.
Captain Ryan.
Nat sleeping on the side of the boat. He woke up when someone's rum punch spilled on him.
Captain and the kids. We were on the family boat. There were two other families on the boat with us. Turns out they live in the States, but are originally from Ukraine. We had a nice time with them.
The captain made us some delicious ceviche.
We had our Christmas Eve dinner at Habanero's Restaurant. Great live music and delicious food.
Ryan insisted on having a meal with king crab.
Justin fell asleep before the food arrived.
When we got home Nat read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas to the boys (minus Justin) because he was already asleep.
